This is a truly amazing place. If you can’t stay, then go for dinner (reservations are required); if you don’t go for dinner, then drop in just to check it out. Built from local stone, old trees, driftwood and other discarded items, the roundhouse is the main building and restaurant, and resembles an egg. There are three self-contained cottages with compact kitchen, shower and separate water closet. The beds have walk-in mosquito nets. At the end of the garden, a few steps lead down to the beach. The Roundhouse is the brainchild of Kim and Sue russell, whose life together deserves its own book. At present they are living on a working barge somewhere on the canals of England.
